sticks unsalted butter, at room temperature, cut into pieces

confectioners sugar, plus more for dusting

all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting board

| RECIPE |
- Preheat oven to 300°F.
- In bowl of an electric mixer, beat the butter until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add the confectioners sugar and mix thoroughly.
- Stir in the flour and add a pinch of salt. Continue to mix until a smooth ball forms.
- Flatten ball into a ⅓ inch thick disk. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough between ⅛ and ¼ inch thick on a board lightly dusted with flour. Use holiday cookie cutters and cut into shapes.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until cookies are dry but pale in color.
- Remove from oven and cool on cookie sheet.
- Sprinkle confectioners sugar over cookies through a sieve.
