INGREDIENTS

4 cups oats
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup bran flake cereal
1/2 cup coconut flakes
1/4 cup dried cranberries
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/4 cup cornmeal (white or yellow)
1/4 cup sunflower seeds (no shells)
1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
1/4 cup almonds, slivered
1/4 cup corn oil
1/3 cup honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
RECIPE

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  • In a large baking pan with sides, mix together the oats, raisins, bran flakes, coconut, cranberries, wheat germ, cornmeal, sunflower seeds, walnuts and almonds.
  • Stir together the corn oil, honey, and vanilla and mix well. Toss with dry ingredients and spread out on the pan in an even layer.
  • Bake until the granola is golden brown, about 45 minutes.
  • Allow the granola to cool, and then serve topped with fresh fruit and milk or yogurt.
