2009 Travel

IAFF members attending the 23rd annual IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial Observance should plan on flying into the Colorado Springs Airport. An IAFF transportation system will be operating from the Colorado Springs Airport with shuttle service to the IAFF contracted hotels. Please supply us with your arrival and departure dates and times and flight number if you are flying to Colorado Springs airport.

The alternative airport is Denver International Airport, which is more than 65 miles from Colorado Springs. Car rentals and taxis are available. The IAFF does not operate a shuttle from Denver to Colorado Springs.

For your travel plans to the 2009 Memorial Observance the IAFF has contracted with the following major airlines, which will provide additional discounts from 5-12% depending on how far in advance travel reservations are made.

Lodging

The IAFF is providing a list of hotels that are now offering special discounts to all the IAFF members attending the Memorial Service between September 16-20, 2009.

Attendees need to call hotels directly to make reservations and must mention the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial to receive special rates at these hotels. Discounted rooms are available on first come, first served basis.

All rates quoted were valid at the time contact was established with the hotel. The IAFF is not able to guarantee the rates or contact the hotel on behalf of an individual. It is recommended that you contact the hotel immediately in order to confirm lodging. It is also recommended that you confirm your room rate for all nights you are booking, since the hotels commonly have different rates throughout the week.

When making your hotel reservations, you must request rooms within the block for the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial to ensure you receive the quoted rate.

• The IAFF will provide shuttles from the Crowne Plaza, Double Tree, Comfort Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, Fairfield Inn, Hampton Inn & Suites, La Quinta and Residence Inn to and from the Ceremony on Saturday.

• The IAFF will assist all families with other transportation needs, such as sight seeing, from the Crowne Plaza hotel only. Such transportation needs are arranged through the IAFF Transportation Center at the Registration Area in the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
