What is Hepatitis B?

Hepatitis B is a serious disease that is responsible for an estimated 4,000 to 5,000 deaths each year in the United States due to cirrhosis and liver cancer.

Blood infected with the hepatitis B virus is much more infectious than HIV infected blood, and the proportion of the United States population infected with hepatitis B is much higher than the proportion infected with HIV.
