On March 16, 2003 the World Health Organization Also known as WHO - WHO is the United Nations specialized agency for health that seeks the attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health. WHO is governed by 192 Member States through the World Health Assembly. (WHO) issued a Global Alert regarding the SARS epidemic. The Alert was issued because this disease was not previously recognized, it caused great risk to exposed health care workers, and it began to spread internationally. There is no indication that SARS is linked to bio-terrorism.
