Acupuncture Mobile Services
Acupuncture Mobile Services (AMS) reaches out to communities offering
Acupuncture, Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist training, Imagery and Stress
Reduction workshops and program development. Wendy Henry, LAc, director of AMS
has offered services to first responders in the New York City area since "9-11".
She worked as the acupuncturist for the Fire Dept. of New York, Counseling
Service Unit. Her work with first responders continued, providing services in
Louisiana post Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Wilma and Gustav. AMS provides services
to people directly impacted by the BP oil spill disaster. AMS performed on-site
acupuncture at the Professional Fire Fighters Association of Louisiana’s Annual
Convention, 2011. Currently AMS is working with the Mental Health Association,
NY to coordinate wellness services at Family Assistance sites for the “9-11”
tenth year anniversary.
Crisis intervention teams and mental health professionals turn to AMS to address issues of post traumatic stress, anxiety, depression and insomnia. AMS works with people directly impacted by both natural and man-made disasters and personal struggles. Integrating acupuncture, Imagery and massage at staging areas both support rest and increased stamina among first responders.
Acupuncture assists both our mind and body to achieve a state of balance. Acupuncture has been used successfully with post-stroke patients, physical pain, headaches, insomnia, addictions, hypertension, gastrointestinal problems, tinnitus, sinus conditions, asthma and bronchitis and many other issues.
Acupuncture and Imagery are very effective in a group setting, but may be catered to the individual in private sessions. Needles used are single-use sterile needles inserted at specific points in the ear or along meridian lines of the body. Brief guided Imagery exercises are very profound. We become awakened as the Images arise within us. Insurmountable obstacles, be they emotional, mental or physical often become manageable and transformed. And it need only take a few minutes!
Acupuncture Mobile Services is available nationally for consultation, training and direct services. AMS works with volunteer-based Community Relief & Rebuilding through Education and Wellness (CRREW) providing services to the underserved and those directly affected by traumatic events in the United States and a special program in Vietnam.
Stop by our booth and take the edge off with an ear acupuncture session!

Susan G. Komen for the Cure®
Susan G. Komen fought breast cancer with her heart, body and soul. Throughout her
diagnosis, treatments, and endless days in the hospital, she spent her time
thinking of ways to make life better for other women battling breast cancer
instead of worrying about her own situation. That concern for others continued
even as Susan neared the end of her fight. Moved by Susan’s compassion for
others and committed to making a difference, Nancy G. Brinker promised her
sister that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever.
That promise is now Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, the global leader of the breast cancer movement, having invested more than $1.9 billion since inception in 1982. As the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists, we’re working together to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® and the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure®, and generous contributions from our partners, sponsors and fellow supporters, we have become the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
