2008 Alfred K. Whitehead Legislative Conference

Conference Schedule

The 2008 Conference will be held from March 9-12, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency in Washington, DC.  Please see this site's Agenda information for conference times and activities.  

Conference Registration

Registration is now closed.  

Important for FIREPAC contributors:  If you wish to register for the conference with a FIREPAC donation, please see this site's FIREPAC information to make sure your donation is properly credited.

Conference Fee and Deadline

The Registration fee is $375 per person for those registering by February 9, 2008.  The late registration fee is $450 for those registering after February 9; FIREPAC Leadership Trust Registration is $500; and the FIREPAC Founders Circle Registration received by February 9 is $375.  Please see this site's FIREPAC information to make sure your donation is properly credited.

Capitol Hill Appointments

All Conference participants will have the opportunity to meet with their Representatives and Senators while attending the Legislative Conference.  Participants should schedule these appointments prior to coming to Washington, DC. 

Call your legislators’ Washington, DC offices directly or call the Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask for your member’s office. The IAFF recommends that you schedule your appointments for Tuesday, March 11.

Conference Materials

The IAFF will provide each participant with a 2008 Fire Fighter Issues Book outlining key legislative initiatives, plus additional detailed materials to assist in your lobbying efforts.

The 2008 Fire Fighter Issues Book is now available.  The IAFF encourages you to share this book with your member of Congress prior to your visit during the Legislative Conference. 

Additionally, all Conference attendees will receive printed copies of the Issues Book on March 9 upon check in.
