IAFF 49th Convention
The IAFF 2008 Convention is scheduled for August 10-15,
2008, at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Convention headquarters hotel is the Rio All-Suite
Hotel and Casino. In order to preserve the IAFF block for Convention
delegates, a code is required to make hotel reservations at the Rio
All-Suite Hotel. Please see the housing form found inside the delegate
credentials packet for the code and hotel contact information. Locals
who have received their housing form will be able to
reserve
rooms through the IAFF web site, by telephone and by fax with a
credit card or check . Please do not contact the IAFF headquarters for
the housing code -- it will not be given over the telephone.
The IAFF
Convention Call was sent February 25, 2008, to IAFF affiliates
and included the dates and location of the IAFF 2008 Convention, as well
as Convention registration costs, entitlement of representation and
resolution procedures.

The IAFF Convention is hosted by
Clark
County, NV Local 1908. Clark County Local 1908 will assist in
hosting IAFF delegates and their guests, with a number of activities
scheduled before and during the Convention. Local 1908 has developed a
web
site to promote events, and will staff a booth throughout the
Convention to answer questions and assist delegates.
The IAFF has made arrangements with American Airlines and
Air Canada for discounted fares to Las Vegas.

The schedule of events for the IAFF 49th Convention
includes:

More than 100 exhibitors at the IAFF exposition area
in the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino. In addition, representative
from each IAFF department will be available to answer questions.

FIREPAC,
the IAFF political action committee, will hold a
Leadership Trust Reception on Tuesday, August 12 in the
VooDoo Lounge at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino. IAFF members
who are current Leadership Trust donors ($500 or more) for calendar
year 2008 are invited.

Extensive coverage of the Convention will be provided
daily in The Delegate newsletter distributed during Convention, as
well as in the September-October edition of the International
Fire Fighter.
