 During a threat of the swine flu, treat any case of the influenza as if it were the pandemic flu.
Characteristic signs and symptoms:
- Persistent fever, usually high fever
- Lethargy
- Lack of appetite
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Body aches
- Headache
- Chills
Some people with swine flu also have reported runny nose, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
