Determining Priorities |
Once you develop your goals, you will prioritize them by placing each goal into one of three categories:
nice-to-haves, must-haves, non-essential items. When you go to the bargaining table you may need to compromise on your lower priority goals in order to obtain your "must-haves."

A must-have is a high priority goal that you have to win.
A nice-to-have is a goal you would like in your contract, but it's not absolutely required.
A non essential is a low priority goal you use to bargain with, it can be tossed out in order to give other demands more priority.
