Affiliate Leaders Go Behind the Scenes of Fire Ops 101

The 2006 ALTS Conference offered a unique workshop for IAFF's local leadership: a Fire Ops 101: Train the Trainer.  This hands-on program gave 86 affiliate leaders the chance to understand firsthand what goes at a Fire Ops event by experiencing it through the eyes of both the instructor and the participant. Vermont State Association Puts on Exceptional Fire Ops 101

The Professional Fire Fighters of Vermont executed a successful Fire Ops 101 event on October 4, 2006.  Their event featured four scenarios Building Search and Hose Line Advancement, Vehicle Fire, Vehicle Rescue/Extrication and Cardiac Arrest Management. Click here to read more.

Toronto Local 3888 Opens IAFF Convention with Fire Ops 101

Over forty elected officials and media felt the heat on Friday, August 25 at Fire Ops 101 held at the Toronto Fire Academy, including Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Car fires roared and ladders went up, as Toronto fire fighters explained their day-to-day work. This event marked another successful Fire Ops 101 for Toronto and kicked off the 48th IAFF Convention.

Washington State Council of Fire Fighters Host Fire Ops 101 Event

Immediate Changes Seen in City Officials Perspective after Fire Ops 101 Event

IAFF Local 1605 in Hagerstown, Marlyand hosted seven city officials and the local media in a Fire Ops 101 event on Friday, April 7th. Local member Mike Weller explains, "The event was a resounding success...City officials are considering bolstering our staffing by 19 positions, and the timing of this academy was essential to that decision making process."
