Labour College of Canada Intensive Program
The Labour College of Canada (LCC) resumed its Intensive Program following significant changes to course design and delivery in 2010. The Intensive Program is offered to union activists from across Canada who want to learn about the history of the Canadian labour movement, the political economy, labour law and much more.
Through readings, lectures, discussions, plenary sessions, research, and an examination of the role of activists in the union, program participants build upon their life and union experiences. Participants gain valuable networks and leave better equipped to continue the struggle for social and economic justice.
For each Intensive Program, the IAFF will select one applicant for the LCC Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to active IAFF members in good standing with an IAFF Local Affiliate to attend the LCC Residential Program in Ottawa. The award covers the cost of tuition and accommodations (approximately $9,400) and provides $1,000 to cover travel and incidental expenses.
Information about future Intensive Programs has not been provided. This web site will be updated as details become available. The LCC is administered through the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC). For more information visit the CLC website.
