The International Association of Fire

than 295,000 full-time professional fire fighters and
paramedics who protect 85 percent of the nation’s
population. More than 3,100 affiliates and their members
protect communities in every state in the United States and
in Canada. The IAFF is one of the most active lobbying

Media Awards Contest
The IAFF Media Awards Contest honors
communications, reporting and photography that best portray
the professional and dangerous work of fire fighters and
emergency medical personnel in the United States and Canada.
The deadline for entries is May 1, 2010. Entries must
have been published or broadcast between January 1 and
December 31, 2009. Entry forms will be available beginning
in January 2010.
