Colerain Local to Hold Benefit for Fallen Fire Fighter
Families

6, 2008 – Colerain Township, OH Local 3915 will hold a benefit June 28, 2008,
for the families of Local 3915 member Robin Boxterman and fire fighter Brian
Schira, who died in the line of duty in April while responding to a house fire.
“Losing a loved one is hard enough without having to think about
how you are going to pay your bills,” says Greg Brown, a member of Colerain
Township and the event organizer. “With this benefit, Colerain Township fire
fighters hope to give the Broxterman and Schira families financial peace of mind
while they grieve.”
The fundraiser, to be held at Germania Park in Cincinnati, from
4:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., will feature three live bands, a silent auction, door
prizes, food and beverages.In addition, the area Warthogs chapter, a fire and
police motorcycle club, will hold a benefit ride with Germania Park as the final
destination.

On
that April morning, Broxterman, 37, and Schira, 29, were in the first unit to
arrive at the house fire. The two went inside to look for the source of the
fire. Soon after, the home’s floor collapsed. Both fire fighters fell into the
basement and became trapped. They died on the scene.
Broxterman is survived by two daughters, 10-year-old Sierra and
eight-year-old Courtney, a fiancé and her parents. Schira is survived by his
parents and two brothers.
