In the introduction to this video, Vermont’s Lieutenant Governor Brian Dubie said he had “never stuck my nose into a real fire.” Last September in Pittsford, he and many other government officials and local reporters got their chance to suit up and see what it might be like.

SECOND PLACE: “Grand Forks Fire Ops 101”

In this brief video montage, officials at all levels of government became “trainees” at a Fire Ops 101. Local 242 members helped them progress from sitting in classroom lectures to actually extinguishing a fire.
