IAFF-MG 12th District National Ride Route
The 12th District IAFF-MG is a three-day
ride departing from Melbourne to Dothan, Alabama, via
Tallahassee (340 miles) on Saturday May 10.
Continue to Memphis, Tennessee, via Tuscalossa, Alabama (390
miles) on May 11. On May 12, ride to Fayetteville (300 miles).
Mat 13, 14 and 15 will be spent in Fayetteville for the rally.
The return home follows the same route in reverse.
May 10, 2008 -- I-95 north from Melbourne to Route 40 to Lady Lake
and Ocala. Turn north to Chief Land and continue north to Capps, then west to
Tallahassee continuing on US 27 north to Bainbridge, Georgia, then west on
US 84 to Dothan, Alabama.
May 11, 2008 -- Depart Dothan via north US 231 around Montgomery,
Alabama, taking US 82 to Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Take US 43 north to Glen Allen,
Alabama, then northwest on US 78 to Tupelo, Mississippi, continuing northwest on
US 78 to Memphis, Tennessee.
May 12, 2008 -- Depart Memphis via west I-40 for 10 miles, then north on
I-55 for 10 miles, then west on US 64 through Searcy, Arkansas, to Conway,
continuing on to US 71, then north to Fayetteville.
If we keep the days under 400 miles, there will be time to take care of any
problems and get back on the road. Brother Neal Depiano, who lives just outside
of Birmingham, will join the ride in route to Memphis. Brother Tim Mitchell, who
lives in Memphis, will join the ride to Fayetteville.
