 Wichita Falls Doubles Last Year's Fundraising Totals
July 22, 2010 - Thanks to the efforts of the members of Wichita
Falls, TX Local 432, including Kelly Crush, who was diagnosed with ALS 18 months
ago, Wichita Falls fire fighters collected on duty in 2010 for the first time in
their history, raising more than $51,000 -- double the $25,809 raised in 2009.
 Goodyear Local 4005 Fire Fighters Fill the Boot for MDA
July 21, 2010 - Goodyear, AZ Local 4005 fire fighters took to
the streets in support of the annual Fill-the-Boot campaign for MDA. Local 4005
surpassed its previous year, raising $13,000 during three weekends in April. John
Stykes, Goodyear Local 4005’s Fill-the-Boot coordinator, along with members of
Local 4005 and many family supporters, stopped traffic to fill the boot.

 Phoenix Local 493 Fire Fighters Fill-the-Boot for MDA
July 20, 2010 - Phoenix Local 493 fire fighters held a Fill-the-Boot fundraiser for MDA, raising $130,033 for the Greater Arizona Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Fire fighters from Tempe, Chandler, Peoria, Glendale and Phoenix all went above and beyond the call to help in the fight against neuromuscular disease.

 CDF Local 2881 Fills the Boot for MDA
June 2, 2010 - Riverside County fire fighters – members of CAL Fire Local 2881 responded beyond the call of duty, raising
a combined total of more than $169,000 to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). The second annual Fill-the-Boot fundraiser was held
in honor of one of former Local 2881 fire fighter Phil Kelleher.

 Dinuba, CA Local 3639 Fills the Boot for MDA
June 2, 2010 - Dinuba, CA Local 3936, held its first Fill-the-Boot drive for the MDA April 23. MDA coordinator
Richard Marquez, 6 on- and off-duty fire fighters, two fire trucks and four ambulances participated, raising $1,909.62 for local

 CAL Fire Fresno-Kings Local 2881 Fill the Boot for MDA
June 2, 2010 - CAL Fire Fresno-Kings Local 2881 collected donations from passing motorists. The combined
efforts of fire fighters in Friant, Parlier, Sanger, Clovis, Fresno, Easton, Huron and Mendota totaled $18,509.50 in
donations to fund MDA patient services. The amount raised is $13,363 more than in 2009.

 Kings County, CA Local 3747 Quadruples Fill-the-Boot Income
June 2, 2010 - For the past nine years, Kings County, CA Local 3747 fire fighters have collected donations for MDA. This year fire fighters increased their total from $2,396 in 2009 to $10,667 in 2010, exceeding their goal.

 Redland Local 1354 Holds Fill the Boot 2010
April 22, 2010 - Redland, CA Local 1354 fire fighters hit the streets for their 2010 Fill-the-Boot
campaign in April. More than 55 Local 1354 members raised an astonishing $25,000 during the three-day event, doubling
the total raised in 2009. Encouraging Local 1354 members was National Goodwill Ambassador Abbey Umali, a Redlands, California resident.

 MDA Ambassador Kicks Off St. Patrick’s Day Fire Fighter Parade
April 2, 2010 - MDA Local Goodwill Ambassador Trenton Kirchfeld was front and center during the 42nd annual
Firefightin’ Up the Irish St. Patrick’s Parade. Trenton was chosen by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Local 2928 as
the parade’s grand marshal. The event was held in Delray Beach, Florida, on March 13, 2010, and featured more than 700 fire fighters from 13 states and Ireland.

 Mobile Local 1349 Goes Above and Beyond for MDA
January 25, 2010 - Mobile, AL Local 1349 participated in the 2009 Fill-the-Boot campaign with amazing results. Each year this
program benefits the children, adults and their families served by the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Local 1349 raised more
than $56,000 in 2009 to help many local families and children with neuromuscular disease.

 Orange Beach Local 4309 Hits the Street for MDA
January 25, 2010 - Orange Beach, AL Local 4309 has once again done an outstanding job raising money and awareness for local families
and children served by MDA. In 2009, fire fighters grabbed their boots and hit the streets, raising more than $10,000 for those with neuromuscular disease. Orange Beach fire fighters have won the coveted “Golden Axe” for many years running, but that’s not why they do it. It’s all for the kids.

 Columbia, SC Local Qualifies for MDA Award
November 13, 2009 - Columbia, SC, Local 793 raised an amazing $875 per person, qualifying for the 2008 IAFF-MDA District 12
Highest Per Capita Local Trophy. More than 135 members hit the streets to collect $119,894. Accepting the

 Metro-Dade Accepts MDA Trophy
November 13, 2009 - Metro-Dade County, FL Local 1403 accepted the 2008 IAFF-MDA District 12 Top Fundraising Local Trophy at the
Florida Professional Firefighters (FPF). Local 1402 members raised $134,300 for South Florida children and adults served

 Immokalee Fire Fighters Extends Boots for MDA
October 30, 2009 - Immokalee, FL Local 4657 Immokalee fire fighters took to the streets Labor Day weekend
to collect for MDA. It was the first time in more than 15 years that the Immokalee Local 4657 raised money to support MDA. Under
the guidance of Local 4657 President Tom Cunningham and Local 4657 MDA Coordinator David Patterson, the Fill the Boot Program was

 Philadelphia Fire Fighters Conduct Helmet Ceremony During Fill the Boot
August 27, 2009 - Philadelphia, PA Local 22 presented eight-year-old MDA Goodwill Ambassador Christian Suchodolski
with an honorary fire fighter’s helmet August 13 to promote its Fill-the-Boot campaign. Honoring Suchodolski is another
example of how dedicated this Local 22 is to supporting MDA research and services. In addition, MDA staff honored Local
22 and Engine 43, Ladder 9 with an appreciation award. Pictured are members of Engine 43, Ladder 9 along with Christian (front center)

 Renton Fire Fighters Raise 10K for MDA
August 27, 2009 - Renton, WA Local 864 fire fighters held their Fill-the-Boot drive, raising $10,907.32 – twice the
amount collected during the last Fill-the-Boot in 2007, which raised $5,319.

 Los Angeles Local 112 Holds 4th Annual Fill-the-Boot Campaign
August 19, 2009 - Los Angeles City, CA Local 112 held its Fill-the-Boot event April 27-29, 2009, raising more than $196,465
for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Over the last four years, Los Angeles City fire fighters have raised more than $536,180 for
children and adults living with neuromuscular disease in Southern California.

Porterville Fire Fighters Exceed 2008 Fundraising Record
August 18, 2009 - Porterville, CA Local 2169 raised $6,021 during its 3rd annual Fill-the-Boot drive. Porterville
fire fighters were committed to raising even more money than they did last year, and pulled out all the stops to make
that happen. The extra effort helped Local 2169 members raise $2,100 more than their 2008 total. Maybe it was the push-ups they did
for every dollar!

 Cal Fire Fire Fighters Play for MDA
August 17, 2009 - Fresno-Kings Cal Fire Local 2881 fire fighters participated in the Charity Bowl
flag football game against Fresno County Law Enforcement in May to raise money for MDA. A portion of all
Charity Bowl ticket sales benefitted MDA, along with donations collected at a Fill-the-Boot drive held in

 Rhode Island Fire Fighters Begin Fill-the-Boot Campaign
August 17, 2009 - The Rhode Island State Association Of Fire Fighters held its statewide Fill-the-Boot kick-off event
in the Rhode Island State House in Providence, Rhode Island July 21. Joseph Andriole, staff representative for the Rhode
Island State Association of Fire Fighters, announced that the 33 IAFF affiliates in the state set a goal to raise $285,000
this summer for MDA and the fight against neuromuscular disease.
