Avondale Fire Fighters Get Creative to Fill-the-Boot

June 5, 2009 - Avondale, AZ Local 3924 fire fighters are creative when it comes to raising money for MDA. Brad Duell, Fill-the-Boot coordinator, and the other Avondale members donated their time on four Saturdays this spring to fill their boots at a local movie theater. In addition, fire fighters collected money near Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) during the Nascar races. Phoenix International Raceway donated tickets to Avondale Local 3924, which it sold for more than $1,000. Local 3924's total contribution this year is more than $4,600, $2,000 more than last year and $1,100 over their goal.
