Unfortunately, emergency responders must sometimes make the ultimate sacrifice in the performance of their job. This section of the Web site is dedicated to announce, honor and memorialize our members that die in the line-of-duty.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Lieutenant Scott B. Schumacher of IAFF Local 414 - Kenosha, Wisconsin. Brother Schumacher, 41, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from skin cancer.

The Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the at A.F. Siebert Chapel at Carthage College, 2001 Alford Park Drive, Kenosha, Wisconsin 53140, (262) 551-8500. The Funeral Service will follow immediately after. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Scott's children, Kenosha Fire Fighters C.A.R.E., or the Lakeland Little League program would be appreciated by the family. It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Fire Fighter/EMT Michael Todd "Boots" Harris of IAFF Local 1132 - Roanoke, Virginia. Brother Harris, 49, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2015 from throat cancer.

The Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Oakeys North Chapel, 6732 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, Virginia 24019, (540) 362-1237. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road, NW, Roanoke, Virginia 24012, (540) 366-6574. A reception honoring Todd's life will be held at the Ashley Plantation Country Club following the graveside service.
