INGREDIENTS

3 lb lean beef cubes
1 c low-sodium beef bouillon
1 c chopped onions
1 c chili sauce
1 c ketchup
1 tbsp low-sodium Worcestershire sauce
3 tbsp cider vinegar
½ tsp freshly ground pepper
½ tsp salt
⅓ c light brown sugar
2 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp ground allspice
RECIPE

  • Place meat, bouillon and onions in crock pot on high for 4-5 hours.
  • While meat is cooking, mix together in a medium bowl chili sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire, vinegar, pepper, salt, brown sugar, mustard and allspice, set aside.
  • Using two forks, shred beef and remove all but 2 cups liquid from pot.
  • Place beef, the two cups reserved liquid and chili mixture back into the crock pot stir well to combine.
  • Cover and continue to cook on high for an additional 1 hour.
  • Serve with buns if desired.
