Survivair Air Klic Safety Notice
An urgent safety notice was issued by the Survivair Company on June 16, 2006
concerning their CBRN respirator facepieces. The problem stems from the
over tightening of the Air Klic into the facepiece which causes it to crack at
the molding knit line. The crack has been shown to decrease the rated air
time of the cylinder by over one minute in some cases. Survivair
recommends that all users of the series 2420XX series facepieces inspect to
determine if there is a crack in the nozzle. If cracks are found they
recommend taking the facepieces out of service and contacting them for
replacement Air Kilcs and nozzles. To view the full text of the safety
notice click here
