Message from the IAFF General President
Harold A. Schaitberger

Dear IAFF Member:

The 2007 IAFF Legislative Conference promises to be a historic event, and I hope you will make plans to attend. In addition to providing an opportunity to lobby on IAFF priority legislative issues, the Conference will also feature one of the nation’s first Presidential forums featuring prospective 2008 Presidential candidates from both political parties.

To accommodate the presidential forum, we’ve added an extra full day to the conference, so please make your travel arrangements to allow you to stay for the all-day session on Wednesday, March 14.

In addition to taking part in this exciting political event, your attendance at the 2007 Legislative Conference will also be crucial to advancing our legislative agenda. The 2006 election brought many changes to the nation’s capitol, giving Democrats control of the House and Senate for the first time in 12 years. This presents an extraordinary opportunity for the nation’s fire fighters, and the active involvement of IAFF local leaders will be essential to our success.

I look forward to seeing you there.

Sincerely and fraternally,

Harold A. Schaitberger
General President
