The  Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, located at 2025 Avenue of the Stars, Los Angeles California, has been selected as the 2009 John P. Redmond Symposium headquarters hotel.  The special room rate for attendees is $249 plus tax (all payable in U.S. dollars).  Limited rooms have been reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. The IAFF's block of rooms at the Hyatt Century Plaza will be held until October 2, 2009.  After this date, reservations will be based on availability and at the hotel's prevailing rate. 

Please consider that the IAFF has reserved rooms (the IAFF block) for the 2009 John P. Redmond Symposium at the Hyatt Regency and Intercontinental hotels.  The rooms reserved for our attendees are taken off the general market and held for our attendees' exclusive use.  If these rooms are not filled by the date of the meeting, the IAFF pays a penalty for the rooms that are held and not used.  Over the long term, these penalties will result in decreased programming, loss of meeting space and increased fees.  Please help your union by making your reservations at the conference hotels.

The Hyatt Regency offers several parking options for guests.  Valet parking is $33.00 per day, and includes in/out privileges.  Self-parking is available offsite and is available for $24.00 per day with no in/out privileges.  Please speak with the concierge for more information on location and costs.

Hotel check-in is 1:00 p.m. and checkout is 12:00 p.m.  The Hyatt Regency offers Kiosk check-in and check-out as a convenience to their guests. 

When taking public transportation from Los Angeles International Airport (approximately 10 miles):

Taxis - can be found curbside on the Lower/Arrival Level islands in front of each terminal under the yellow sign indicating Taxis.  

• Passengers will be presented with a ticket stating typical fares to major destinations.

• Departing guest should speak with the hotel concierge to arrange transportation back to LAX.

• Cost: approximately $35.00 each way

Super Shuttle - offers 24-hour service, 7 days a week to and from LAX/Century City.

• Arriving guests will find a Shared Ride island outside of each baggage claim area.  Look for blue vans with yellow lettering marked "Super Shuttle".
