Miami-Dade Hosts Fire Fighters Golf Tournament
August 5, 2009 – Miami-Dade, FL Local 1403 invites all IAFF members to
participate in the 46th annual U.S. and Canadian Professional Firefighters Golf
Tournament, scheduled for September 6-9, 2009, at Amelia Island Plantation Hotel
& Resort.
Originally started in 1964 as a team event, this tournament now
allows any player to participate in any of five divisions that accommodate any
level of play. An entry fee and resort package of $585 (plus skins) includes:

Hotel accommodations for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday

Three rounds of golf and tournament play at Ocean Links, Oak
Marsh and Amelia River

Buffet breakfast on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

Hospitality room Sunday-Wednesday

Awards Banquet Dinner on Wednesday night

Additional nights at the four-diamond Amelia Island Resort will
be discounted for all participants at a rate of $99 per room per night, plus
taxes and a $10 resort fee.
The tournament features five divisions:

Master's Division (any age): four-man team play
-
Senior Master's Division (over 50): four-man team
play
-
Mini Division (any age): individual 54-hole stroke
play
-
Senior Mini Division (over 50): 54-hole stroke play
-
Super Senior Mini Division (over 60): 54-hole
stroke play
In addition, a ladies program is available for
$435.
To encourage more participation and flexibility, the tournament will include a
new two-man format to allow locals that cannot field a four-man team to still
take part in the event in the Two-Man Team Division (any age) or the
Senior Two-Man Team Division (both players must be over 50).
Additional open competition is available to all players after Round 1. Following
Round 2, golfers can participate in a fast skins game. Each event is $25.
