Napa Fire Fighters Hold Raffle to Fund Future Fire Fighters

April 16, 2008 – Napa City, CA Local 3124, is selling tickets for its First Sporting Arm, Fine Wine and Tropical Vacation Raffle. The raffle combines a rare and highly valued Napa Valley Edition Sporting Arm with the world-renowned fine wine of the Napa Valley and the sun and sand of the state of Florida – all to ensure permanent funding for its cooperative sponsorship of the City of Napa Fire Explorer Post.

Local 3124 teamed with Hill Family Estate, a premium producer of Napa Valley wine, and Kimber Manufacturing, one of the nation’s leading producers of fine sporting and service firearms to create a Napa Valley Edition of Kimber’s Model 8400 SuperAmerica premium sporting rifle in 300 W.S.M. caliber.

The floor-plate of the rifle is engraved with the emblem of the commemorative event and a fire fighter’s Maltese cross surrounded with grape clusters, all in gold. Additional grape clusters adorn the floor-plate and trigger guard. The receiver is also fully engraved. This rifle is the only one of its kind in existence and was created by the artisans at Kimber’s Custom Shop exclusively for Napa City Local 3124.

In addition to the Rifle, Hill Family Estate has created a limited edition bottle of its Origin red wine blend. This spectacular wine is presented in a large format, 6-liter bottle that is custom engraved with the same gold tone emblem that adorns the floor-plate of the rifle in gold. Origin, a premium blend of Napa Valley red wine is considered one of Hill Family Estates top wines and is a favorite of the valley. This wine, being part of the décor of the rifle and the first in the future of this event, also bestows it name to the rifle.

Finally, the Florida Winefest, one of the largest charity wine auctions in the country, joined the effort to fund this raffle by donating a trip for two to the 2009 Florida Winefest, including tickets to sold-out events, luxury beach front lodging and all the fun and events of this amazing event in Sarasota, Florida.

All proceeds from the raffle benefit the City of Napa Fire Explorers Post 220, a program that allows Napa Valley youth to learn the skills, equipment and career building concepts to earn a career in the fire service. Celebrating its 30th year, the City of Napa Fire Explorers Post 220 has led many local youth into a tradition of giving back to their community, and many others into a direct career in the Fire Service.

Napa City Local 3124 hopes to distribute 500 tickets for the raffle in exchange for a $100 donation per ticket. One winning ticket will be drawn following the sale of the 500th ticket. This value of the prize package is estimated at $13,000.
