Fundraiser for Injured Detroit Fire Fighters October 15

October 8, 2010 – After a burning two-story building partially collapsed August 13, 2010, seriously injuring four Detroit, MI Local 344 fire fighters, several fellow Local 344 members have planned a fundraiser for Friday, October 15, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. at the Roostertail in Detroit.

As a first step in the event organizing process, fire fighters established a charitable fund called the F.I.R.E. – Firefighters Injured Relief Effort. The newly established fund, with support from the Axemen Professional Firefighters Motorcycle Club Charities, is hosting the October 15 cocktail party and auction. All auction items were donated by area businesses and citizens.

All monies earned by the fund will help offset the medical bills of injured Local 344 fire fighters Gerald Rutkowski, Brendan Milewski, Eric Jurmo and Brian Baulch.
