FLRA Rules in Favor of Local F-263
July 12, 2010 – The Federal Labor Relations Authority (FLRA) has ruled in
favor of the Federal Firefighters of Hawaii Local F-263, ordering the Department
of the Navy to rescind the suspensions of two fire fighters and restore their
pay with interest. The FLRA dismissed the exceptions filed by the Department of
the Navy in 2009. The Arbitrator also granted the union legal fees in the sum of
$39,525.
Local F-263 President Reid Shimabukuro says, “We are extremely pleased with
FLRA’s ruling. We’ve taken on a giant with the Navy and came out victorious. |
