Connecticut Fire Fighter Competes for Own Show

July 1, 2010 –Greenwich, CT Local 1042 member Guy Fortt has developed a cooking show concept that features which would feature one firehouse and its chef(s) in each episode. After having filmed a sample episode, Fortt entered “Rescue Meal” in an Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) competition.

If “Rescue Meal” is chosen, it will be featured on OWN in January 2011. Voting ends July 3. Click here to view Fortt’s audition or to vote.

Fortt also hopes to use the show to showcase the everyday struggles and triumphs of being a fire fighter. “I’ve been working hard to get this show on the air for some time,” says Fortt. “I am thankful for this potential opportunity through the OWN.”

Fortt is a 25-year veteran fire fighter.
