Little Rock Fire Fighters Raise $16,000 for Charity
June
29, 2010 – Little Rock, AR Local 34 hosted its 18th Annual Burn Center Golf
Tournament at the Eagle Hill Country Club in Little Rock. The tournament raised
more than $16,000 to benefit the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Burn Unit.
To participate, each team had to have at least fire fighter or
hospital employee. Some 36 teams comprised of 144 players competed.
Additionally, the event earned its biggest sponsor ever. A company called
1-800-BoardUp became the event’s first ever platinum sponsor with $2500.
Local 34 has donated more than $162,000 to the Arkansas
Children’s Hospital Burn Unit. As the state’s only burn unit, the facility
serves both adult and pediatric burn victims.
