March
9, 2010 – Hagerstown, MD Local 1605 fire fighters will hold their 5th Annual
Bonanza May 7-8, 2010, at the Hagerstown Motorspeedway. Tickets are $100 each
and are good for both days. All proceeds benefit the Local 1605 Foundation which

“This is the Foundation’s only fundraising event and I am proud
to say that all 72 Local 1605 members participate,’ says Local 1605 Foundation
Vice President John Murray. “A lot of planning, time and effort goes into this
great cause. And each year gets bigger and better.”
On May 7, $1,000 door prizes will be handed out to 20 ticket
holders. Additionally, a VIP tent will offer guests gourmet food items, free
beer, gaming tables and more.
On the second day, there will be more giveaways, including seven
Chevrolet vehicles, a 2010 Corvette, seven Harley Davidsons, campers, four
wheelers, a jet ski and cash prizes between $1,000 and $100,000. There will be
live music, games and vendors on both days.
The Local 1605 Foundation was formed in 2005 and has given
$450,000 in charitable donations to local non-profits, including $40,000 to the
Children’s Village of Washington County, where the county’s second graders learn
fire, traffic, water, pedestrian and other personal safety skills from uniformed
fire fighters and police officers. The Foundation has also purchased a van used
by a non-profit organization to transport patients to and from their cancer
treatments.
