North Haven Fire Fighters Host Successful Fire Ops

November 20, 2009 – North Haven, CT Local 2987 hosted five members of the North Haven Board of Selectmen at its Fire Ops 101.

Local 2987 fire fighters took event participants through four evolutions: an EMS module focusing on the differences between ALS and BLS; auto extrication; fire truck operations; and live fire.

“For our decision-makers to truly understand what we do, they must have hands-on opportunities like this one,” says Local 2987 President Jeff Obier.

During the live fire evolution, participants wore SCBA and experienced extreme temperatures and zero visibility.
