Arkansas Fire Fighters Form New Local

August 27, 2009 – Sherwood, AR Local 4756 is one of the recent new affiliates to join the IAFF. The 19-member local to organized when a new chief was hired for the Sherwood Fire Department.

John Sawyer, president of Local 4756, says, “With a new chief, it was a good time to form the Sherwood Fire Fighters Association. It’s a fresh start for both labor and management.”

With the help of IAFF 14th District Vice President Danny Todd, Local 4756 organized and received its charter on August 13, 2009. New officers include President Sawyer, Vice President Philip Flynn and Secretary-Treasurer Brian Lawrence.
