Wyoming Fire Fighters Plan 5K to Benefit MDA

August 10, 2009 –Laramie, WY Local 946 fire fighters are ramping up their efforts to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) by planning their first “Firefighters’ 5K for MDA” on Saturday, September 5. The following weekend – September 12 – they will conduct a traditional Fill-the-Boot drive.

“There is a large population of runners here,” says Gus Stonum, president of Local 946. “This run is a great way for folks to have fun and do something nice for a good cause at the same time.”

Registration is $20 per adult and $10 for anyone under 12 years old. The cost includes a T-shirt. Those who want to help the cause, but do not wish to run, can purchase a T-shirt for $15.
