Connecticut Fire Fighter Searches for Top Firehouse Chef
June 5, 2009 – Greenwich, CT Local 1042 member Guy Fortt, like
many fire fighters, loves cooking and good food. He has decided to combine his
love for the job and cooking to create a firehouse cooking television series and
nationwide cook-off, a project he’s calling “Rescue Meal.”
The Rescue Meal series will feature at least 12 firehouses (one
per episode) across the United States. The featured firehouse will showcase its
chef(s) while also discussing what it’s like to be on the job.
At the end of the series, Fortt plans to hold a televised
firehouse cooking competition, pitting chefs from the featured firehouses.
When he is not on duty, Fortt is a producer for TeleverseMedia
and is an experienced actor. “I am confident that I have the connections and
experience to make this project a reality,” he says.
Fortt is currently gathering sponsors and shopping his idea to
television networks. Meanwhile, he is also looking for interested firehouses.
For more information, contact Fortt at (203) 653-1625.
