FIRST PLACE:
This web site and blog keep the community apprised of rolling
closures and fire department operations. They also help the
community understand the connection between budget cuts and the
fire department’s ability to perform.

SECOND PLACE:
“Save Our History”
Established social networking practices helped save Local
738’s historic open cab fire engine. Purchased new in 1939, the
engine was scheduled to be sold as city surplus. Using Facebook
and Twitter, linked to the local’s web site, Local 738 mounted a
public campaign that cost it nothing, thanks
to the already strong online presence.
