FIRST PLACE: “Pants on Fire”

Many fires and accidents preceded the August 2007 demolition of the 40-story Deutsche Bank building. This article calls the subsequent fire, which killed two fire fighters, an avoidable disaster caused by the lack of regular inspections prior to the demolition.
