IAFF Meets With Canadian Opposition Leader

March 11, 2009 -- The IAFF held a meeting March 4 in Ottawa with Liberal Party Leader Michael Ignatieff (left).

During the meeting, IAFF Assistant to the General President for Canadian Operations Jim Lee discussed the IAFF’s Canadian legislative agenda with Ignatieff, the member of Parliament (MP) for the Toronto-area riding of Etobicoke-Lakeshore and Leader of Canada's Official Opposition.

Also attending the meeting were Glen Pearson, a former fire fighter and member of London, ON Local 142 who is now a Liberal MP for London North Centre; Liberal MP Wayne Easter (Malpeque, PEI) and former Saint John, NB Liberal MP Paul Zed, who is Ignatieff’s Chief of Staff.
