October 1, 2012 – With assistance from the IAFF Motorcycle Group (IAFF-MG) and
Boston Harley Davidson, MDA is hosting its 24th Annual Halloween Witch Ride
October 21 in Massachusetts. Over 2,000 Motorcycle riders from across New
England will ride from Boston Harley Davidson in Everett to Shetland Park in
“This is the first year the IAFF-MG will be co-sponsoring and assisting with the
event’s logistics,” says IAFF-MG National Coordinator Michael Crouse. The
Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts, Everett Local 143 and Salem Local
172 are already heavily involved with the planning.
The IAFF-MG also plans to bring out The Peacemaker, a custom motorcycle built by
Lynn Jones made for former MDA National Ambassador Mattie Stepanek. “Mattie was
a motorcycle enthusiast and worked with the IAFF and Harley-Davidson to raise
awareness and funding for MDA,” says Crouse.
Crouse adds, “We know that Mattie would be thrilled to know that his custom
built motorcycle will be on display for all to see at this year’s Halloween
Witch Ride is still being utilized by the IAFF-MG in support of MDA.”
The Halloween Witch Ride serves to raise both awareness and dollars for MDA.
This year, fundraisers will be eligible for prizes. The more money raised, the
bigger the prize.
All IAFF-MG members are welcome to ride on October 21. For those who would like
to assist with event set-up and logistics, the IAFF-MG needs people to help out
beginning at 7:00 a.m.
