New Season of Escape to the Wild Starts January 3
December
22, 2009 – Big dreams, big game and big surprises weave together in an
extraordinary new season of Escape to the Wild as host Tom
Ackerman takes hardworking union members away from the everyday to experience
once-in-a-lifetime hunting and fishing adventures. All-new episodes air Sundays
at 9:30 a.m. EST on VERSUS Country beginning January 3.
Season four begins with a dream come true for Greg Curry, a member of Downers
Grove, IL Local 3234. Posing as a motorist having a possible heart attack, host
Tom Ackerman gives Curry the shock of his life when he comes clean with a trip
to hunt elk in some of the most breathtaking areas of Colorado.
As the excitement of the hunt builds, viewers get a glimpse into the lives of
the winners – their struggles, their triumphs and their commitment to their
union, families and the outdoors. From Southwest Airlines flight attendant Karen
Carrolan who does all she can to convince other women that hunting is cool to
bricklayer and Irish native William Higgins who won citizenship in the U.S.
where he and his family enjoy their rights to hunt on public land, each union
winner has a story to tell.
Tune in to VERSUS Country this season as lucky winners pursue exotic Africa
game, follow the bugle of bull elk, play tug-of-war with Guatemala sailfish,
glass for caribou on the endless tundra, outwit whitetail across the United
States, and hunt black bear on Vancouver Island, in 10 adrenaline-pumping
