Tune in to the IAFF Legislative Conference Webcast

March 13, 2009 – A webcast of the 2009 Alfred K. Whitehead Legislative Conference will be available on the IAFF web site beginning Monday, March 16.

The annual Legislative Conference is the cornerstone of the IAFF's legislative efforts, and has led to significant victories on Capitol Hill — largely as a result of the relationships that local IAFF leaders have formed with their elected officials. Following the November 2008 elections, the IAFF has been working with the Obama administration and the Democratic, Independent and Republican party leaders to strategically advance the union's legislative priorities.

This year's Conference features presentations from prominent national figures from both sides of the aisle. "The lineup of speakers is a testament to our great union and to the reputation we have built as a powerful political force," says IAFF General President Harold Schaitberger.
