Union Privilege Scholarship Applications Available
January 30, 2009 – Union Privilege is now accepting applications
for its Union Leaders of the Future Scholarship and Mentoring Program. All
applications must be postmarked by May 30, 2009.
The scholarship program offers annual awards of up to $3,000 to
help women and people of color pursue their union career goals and leadership
skills. The Mentoring Program helps them set defined union leadership goals. The
mentors are current labor leaders.
Applicants can be union members, leaders or staff. Scholarship
dollars can be used for tuition, books and travel for leadership training at
accredited labor schools, colleges, universities and community colleges.
