FIRE Act Grant Application Period Ends April 4

March 24, 2008 – The IAFF is reminding affiliates that FIRE Act grant application period ends at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on April 4, 2008. The application period began March 3, 2008. Please work with and encourage your fire department to submit an application before the deadline.

Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters (FIRE Act) grants makes available competitive grants for equipment, training, fire fighter and first responder safety and response vehicles. AFG applications are available online. The web site provides other information about FIRE Act grants, including the FY2008 funding priorities and program guidance, a web-based tutorial on the application process, a listing of frequently asked questions and other materials.
