IAFF-MG Fire Fighters Participate in 9/11 Tribute Ride
September
13, 2007 – Hundreds of IAFF Motorcycle Group (IAFF-MG) members paid special
tribute in memory of the 343 FDNY fire fighters who made the ultimate sacrifice
on 9/11 with the IAFF-MG 9/11 Tribute Ride ~Never Forget held in conjunction
with the IAFF-MG First National Rally.
On the sixth anniversary of September 11, IAFF-MG fire fighters
were greeted by the Sturgis Mayor Maury LaRue at Woodley Memorial Park. The
mayor and the riders traversed more than 35 miles through the South Dakota’s
Black Mountains to Rapid City, South Dakota.
Following
the ride on September 12, IAFF-MG members were invited back to Sturgis for a pub
crawl. Riders may also compete on September 13 in a sporting clay competition
before leaving for the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial in Colorado Springs,
Colorado, to participate in the annual “Ride to Remember.” |
