IAFF Mourns Loss of Former 16th District Vice President

September 4, 2007 -- The IAFF is sad to report that former IAFF District 16 Vice President Wayne Johnson has passed away. Brother Johnson died on September 1, 2007.

Brother Johnson was born in Lambertville, New Jersey and was a federal fire fighter at McGuire Air Force Base for 30 years. He served as the 16th District Vice President for the IAFF from 1978 to 1984.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lois E. (Snyder) Johnson, two daughters, Rhonda L. Berg of Ft. Myers, and Wendy L. Johnson of Cape Coral. He has three grandchildren, Evan S. Berg, Heather L. Berg and Camille C. Johnson.

Wayne and his wife moved to Cape Coral, Florida in December 1985. He was a member of Evangelical Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers any donations should be made to the Evangelical Presbyterian Deacon's Benevolent Fund at 701 Mohawk Parkway, Cape Coral Florida 33914.

A service to honor Wayne's life will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 4 p.m. at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
