8, 2006 - The IAFF and its affiliates across the country made an unprecedented
effort November 7 to support IAFF political allies and oppose its enemies,
regardless of party affiliation.
IAFF General President Harold Schaitberger spent the last days
before the mid-term election campaigning to re-elect one of this union’s closest
allies to the U.S. Senate, Independent candidate Joe Lieberman.
“Our members worked hard from coast to coast,” says President
Schaitberger. “Once again, at every level of government, the IAFF signature
gold-and-black ‘Fire Fighters For…’ shirts and signs dominated the political
landscape, showing support for our Republican, Democratic and Independent
friends.”
